There is no way we can do that. The first reason is we don't have the crew that can handle this and the time we not here we are together with our family, work, and yes we have a life outside GH to. 
That team we have now is rely working full time to keep up the forum and there is no time for them to the same time taking care of one other site with updated info.
The second reason is GH goes up and down out of our control and we have not contact with the owner (Server Hoster) every day. He is rely busy with his work.
The reason we are suggesting tumblr or something like that is because it would take ZERO maintenance. All that it would be there for is for the management to have the ability to get a message out in case of problems. We really are talking seconds of work for this entire outage, and zero work when all is well.
There is an announcement now saying there are problems, it is on the forum, where it is invisible to people who can't get to the site and are worried it is dead. If that same very short and not at all detailed or time consuming post was also made on per-arranged location off the site then people could see that there is no reason to worry, and that the staff are working on it.
No one in this thread is asking for anything difficult or time consuming, we all understand that this site is run by volunteers, and none of us want to put a burden on any of you. We all appreciate how hard you all work and how thankless it can be.
Things can and do go wrong. In real life families have pre-arranged meeting places in case they get separated by a natural disaster, we are just suggesting a digital equivalent. I was a member of another community where ownership of the domain was accidentally lost. The only reason the community survived was because there was a pre-arranged place on the net where the admins could tell us the new URL for the site.
We really are not asking for or expecting anything difficult, time consuming, or complex, because we know that would be unfair to do.
