I was born in tiny farming town Nebraska. (How small was it? It was so small and rural that the ZIP code was E-I-E-I-O.) I spent the ages of 3-15 in Southern Calif. then back to Nebraska (Omaha), then back to Calif. Next I spent five years in Sydney, Australia. Since then I have lived in Calif. about 20 miles south of El Lay except for an abortive attempt to transplant my self to Virginia.

Far too close to the Tennis Courts in Wimbledon, so for the last 2 weeks have had to put up with the crowds of middle-class-folk trudging to the entrances as well as the cheers and claps from the various courts. Ah well, at least I can look forward to the next 50 weeks of moderate suburban quiet.

Parking

Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

When I lived near Central Square a closed gas station continued servicing cars. The owner said it was OK to park in front of a side driveway because they only used their front entrances.
I always had a street spot, no one risked blocking an driveway and getting towed !
Even when neighbors viewed my always open place, they didn't take it.

The day after I moved I returned for my favorite frying pan left behind.
Was informed our nice landlord took my parking place because I split.
And last night a car being chased by the police sideswiped his BMW and I was lucky the vehicle was not my red Olds Cutlass S !

Now I'm on the West coast and have a garage, and no show shovel.
