So my IO MS fried (long story), but I was able to pull the drives out and all the data is intact. thankfully all six gs i had stored on the IO are safe. Since it's so close to the holidays I thought I'd splurge, and bought a new Acer Easystore Media Server; Although I have some nice toys, I'm a dolt about media stuff, and how these all these cool gadgets work. The Acer uses Windows Media Server software, which is quite different from the linux setup I was using on the IO.
Before I start filling it with drives and setting it up I thought I'd plum the knowlesge base here, and see if anyone has any tips or adivse on setting up and using WMS software.
Since it's storming like a SOB here in Seattle, Im not gonna pull the new toy out till I have more time on Friday, so any timely advise, suggestions, etc., would be greatly appreciated
