would you commit a crime for love?

This is actually quite the good question... hmm, I would honestly hope not. I know love is difficult sometimes, but hopefully it wouldn't lead to something illegal or too crazy. Love is a lot of things, but it certainly shouldn't have to come to something like this.

Agreed. Now then if someone attacked or threatened my partner, I would be strongly motivated to commit some mayhem on his behalf. But I guess that's not quite the same thing.

Not all laws are just.

It all depends on what the crime was (breaking a just law or an unjust law, and the severity of the crime if it were a just law) and how much I loved the person.

No one worthy of love would ask me to commit a crime on his/her behalf, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't do it of my own accord depending on the circumstances as noted above.

Do you mean robbing a bank like Bonnie and Clyde? Or perhaps a casino like 'The Italian Job'?

A swindle like 'The Grifters'? or 'The Sting'?

A Manson -style murder perhaps? Could you have killed Sharon Tate? Could you shoot a Ronald Reagan to show your love of Jodie Foster?

What I don't see is how such a situation could get to the point of commiting a crime to show love. Unlike my examples above, life is not the movies. Long before one gets to a crime stage, there must be some signal that something is up. A normal human with basic intuition will read the signs far in advance of such a situation.

It is all a matter of perception. There are a lot of countries where a gay relationship is against the law. I admire the courage of people who brake the law on that matter. So the answer to your question is Yes, I would.

I suppose you do have quite the strong point. I am very protective of those who are close to my heart and I have even surprised myself with reactions when they are threatened.

But you said it: defending someone is much different than going out and just doing something truly reckless.

Huh? :?

I'm confused where you are going with this because Bonnie & Clyde, the Manson Family and John Hinkley are all too real. The Mason girls in particular were willing to do anything to show their devotion to Charlie. So this kind of thing clearly happens, (though the actions taken by the Family are extreme examples).

But on a lesser scale, go talk to the inmates of any women's correctional facility and you'll find behind most of their convictions there is a man involved. Specifically, a lot of drug transactions are carried out to help their boyfriends.

In the words of Oscar Hammerstein:

Tell me he's lazy; tell me he's slow
Tell me I'm crazy - maybe, I know
Can't help lovin' that man of mine.

You have a logical brain - just like me ;)

However, sometimes people do things that are beyond what you believe they'd do. The pressures of life can become too much, they are guilty of crime in reality, but we have also to think of the reasons.

Nobody in any stressed situation thinks normally! Society condemns but rarely helps!

May I offer flogging services? That's my passion as a BDSM Top. Did you wish for a single-tail lash or a cat-o-nine, or some other equally percussive implement?:butslap:
