I'm just watching a documentary on the BBC about the lost children of Zimbawe.

To say it's depressing and heartbreaking is a complete understatement. I can be a hard bastard but this just brings me close to tears!

It's so upsetting what is happening in parts of the world - and some think we've progressed from the stone age!! No we haven't, we are still capable of allowing such things to happen.

I know a lady from this country and she has often said to me that Ian Smith was good! Ok they had segregation, but they had food and they were the best educated in all Africa! She speaks highly of him and she's not white!

How do we allow things to go this wrong ? How does the human race live with itself?

No, we haven't progressed at all as long as this kind of thing goes on. Governments invade countries for oil supplies, but never for humanitarian reasons!

You know I just can't get over how a once great country can be allowed to decline like this. The people of Zimbawe are so lovely too and really don't deserve to be ignored like this!

We really have no idea.

I wonder how many people get, I mean really get it? The political idea that the West is marching inexorably forward, in a nice little linear line towards... a better future for all mankind, a world of democracy (which has never existed, anywhere) peace, love, equality... at the level of emotionality and manipulation it's a captivating set of ideas or 'issues', and each issue is played and moved around the chess board by clever, powerful and wealthy elitists (control freaks)... at the material level (think resourses, production, control) it's about a tiny number of individuals and organisations bringing about a kind of accelerated rate of acquisition, or in plain terms --greed. This is what 'moving forward' means. But how many people really really get it?

You are so so right!!

Read the book "A long way gone" by Ismeal Beah.
It's about his teenager years in Sierra Leone.
It is unbelievable what happened to those people!!!!

There is always something you can do, even if it's a comparitively minor protest, but we all sit around and keep quiet!

I'm as guilty as hell for doing the same most of the time!

For god's sake, even charity has now become an industry --worth approx. four billion in the UK. A lot of corporations set up charities, either for tax purposes or as 'fronts'/good P.R.

We seem to think pretty much alike - as for the above , well I've been noticing that so often over the years. My company I work for is no different!

We are all taken as fools and manipulated.
