Your Personal Christmas Traditions?

I know there are lots of Christmas traditions that are cultural - eating Turkey, eating too much, drinking too much, presents, egg nog, and all that.

What I'm curious about is the Christmas traditions we have that are personal, rather than cultural.

For me, it's listening to Patrick Stewart's reading of Dickins' 'A christmas Carol' on my iPod/iPhone.

So, what are your little Christmas traditions?

Traveling to and having a good time with Family with some days off^^

I have my Christmas Specials I watch to get in a festive mood. And there are books I always read around Christmas... every year

Our family tradition is as follows:
both families, my boyfriend's and my, meet together on Christmas Eve (24th of December)
on 4 o'clock for a great meal in the house of my parents. My mom and the mom of my BF have prepared the roast goose which will be done until the bones. After the meal and some glases of wine and afterwards Grappa will start the handing out of presents. Than the whole family is singing together SILENT NIGHT, HOLY NIGHT. Without this song there is no Christmas.
And again wine and/or Grappa together with much good talk.

On the 25th we will meet alltogether again for GONE WITH THE WIND. Every year the "same procedure".

And this time all of us have got a special present - my Mum seems to be over the worst!
For my Dad, my siblings, myself - for all of us - it was the prettiest present!!!!!

The usual tradition is that I spend Christmas Eve with my late partners' family for the traditional Italian Christmas Dinner and I spend Christmas Day with my close friends. However, this year, I spent Thanksgiving with my late partners' family and spend the whole Christmas holiday with my friends away for the whole weekend. To compromise so to speak, I will spend New Years Day with my late partner's family and New Years Eve with my friends as always.
