Teenage British Olympic Diving Star Tom Daley Comes Out In YouTube Video

In a video he posted to his YouTube channel today, 19-year-old British diving star Tom Daley, came out by revealing he is currently in a serious relationship with a man. Daley said he wanted “to put an end to all the rumours and speculation, and just say it, tell you guys,” adding “is it a big deal? I don’t think so.”

In a frank five-minute YouTube clip, which has already racked up almost one million views in its first few hours online, Daley said “I still fancy girls” but revealed that he’s recently started dating a man.

“Now I kind of feel ready to talk about my relationships,” Daley said.

“Now I kind of feel ready to talk about my relationships,” Daley said.

He added:
Come spring, this year, my life changed. Massively. When I met someone and it made me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great. That someone is a guy. And it did take me by surprise a little bit. It was always in the back of my head that it could happen, but it wasn’t until the spring of this year that something clicked. It felt right. Like I said, my whole world just changed right there and then.

I definitely believe that he did the right thing in telling people his sexuality from his own mouth rather than the media blowing it up. Hope all is well with him and his lucky bf =)
