anyone getting FFXIII?

I'm a freak when it comes to jrpgs, i've played them all, phantasy star, persona, shadow hearts, kingdom hearts, LOL i could go on and on, anyone hyped about the new FFXIII game?

I gotta admit, i was hyped aout it but when i read reviews about how linear the game was, i got disheartened, anyone feel the same way or are you over the moon!

im psyched! cant wait, ive ignored any reviews, prefer reviewing things myself, but read one gaming article where they said something along the lines of "after completing after three weeks!!" which is what has got to me a bit, the main reason i like these FF games is for their length, hope its not that short =(

I already order my Collector's Edition for PS3 (despite having both PS3 and Xbox 360)

I have final fantasy on my playstation but i get scared playing it sometimes cuz the bosses scare me for some reason so i stop at times.. and I also slightly get discouraged when I can't beat a boss because I don't have the right magical skill to kill it.. ... *sigh .. The new one coming out for xbox I think is kinda cool but i wish they would allow more than 1 player for a game.. so it's not just me.. cuz i don't like playing a lone grr!.

I've played FF8 over 5x, FVI 2x and FFX, 4 times, all the othes with just a single playthrough and i can tell you that i never encountered a boss which made me stop LOL unless your talking about secret bosses, ya knw, they're secret for a reason!

oh and PS3 FFXIII for the win, i cnt imagine playing it on xbox, with it being compressed and all

i always find if im ever stuck on a boss and have failed to kill it after like 6 or so attempts, that when i stop playing the game for a week or three, i go back and successfully kill the sucker!

always seems to have worked, for my cousin as well, so dunno if its cause we start to slack or what lol, but it always seems to work (Y)

and whats the cheapest anyone has found the game at? ive been looking around but still havnt thought where to buy from, although i should really preorder..

The Final Fantasy comment was kinda funny, from what I've heard the company was going under and final fantasy was their last endeavor. Fortunately it was a success and bred an almost cult following that has kept Square in game developer heaven. BTW I've taken vacation that week and will be buying it for the 360.

dont worry about the linearity. its prob similar to ff10 and i have no complaints there

got mine preordered in australia -__- which seems so much more expensive than the rest of the world.

I got mine last week. so far it okay. Not the best final fantasy game ever but not the worst one either.

I think that FFXIII was an amazing game. The new battle system is freaking awesome! The story line is quite direct though, there isn't much room for traveling freely like you've been able too in the other games. But there are a lot of side-missions that you can do before and after completing the game. It keeps it going. I love FF13

Agreed entirely, i enjoyed it to death but i didn't 100% everything on it yet

It was ok but definently not the best ff.The grahics and battle system are great and I didn't mind that that is was short or so linear. Unfortunately because it was so short in order to add hours to the game they added some tedious crap to it like making gil. In the best place to get gil if your lucky you can get 1M an hour but you need like 20 to 30M. I'm glad I got it but it has no replay value, I got my platinum trophy yesterday, on wednesday its off to gamestop to trade it in and that really makes me sad cause I played each of the others from 7 on at least twice. Hopefully FFVXIII makes up for it.
