I have lived in several places where men still feel obligated to have a family and continue the family name. The men have been gay or ???? who knows what they were. I accepted it because that was the culture of Japan, Korea and Saudi. I don't know that I would accept it in a more open society. It has always been that dirty little secret that as long as you fulfilled your duties to family, you could do what you wanted on the side.
