Depositfiles

Haven't been able to complete a d/l from depositfiles for many days. Links are from here or other groups and blogs, many belonging to members here. It freezes, cuts off midway, seems to complete but file is corrupted, etc.

If they have your money do they deliver a reliable service?? With resume function?

I use Firefox with the Download Manager. There have been recent updates to both.

Anyone have information or a theory about where the glitch could be?

Btw. did you try to download two files at the same time as a free user? It accidently happened to me yesterday. I forgot to click on one link and did it later after clicking on another one. Only one of the files came correctly to my harddisk. The other one stopped shortly after the first file finished from downloading.

On my 4th try for link #1 was able to get 125MB of 271MB. Enough to play on VLC and want to try again. On my 5th try the estimated d/l time was 1hr 25min. In between there was a message... my German is not very good... "this file is temporarily unavailable, we are installing software updates/upgrades." I have tried different times of day with no other HDD activity. It must be my ISP.

So, back to the original question: if you buy a deposit file subscription, do you get faster speeds and resume function??

you are welcome!

They advertise these advantages with the Gold account (you may use download accelerators; fast up- and downloads). So it seems you can get faster downloads and resume broken ones. But if the speed is only a problem of your ISP, it will not help much.

It depends. Sometimes the files will download good, other times, it'll stop midway or even close to halfway.

A personal opinion, but anything that gives such bad service as a free user I wouldn't be inclined to pay money for.

There are so many better hosts, even for free users, and this one I just bypass.

well u could always just upload files to it so it would pay for it self ,Thats what i did it it works fine for me , I dont download as much as i would like to , But i dont do lots of things i would like to do thats another story. anyway, I never really use to it as a free user.

It's sad other members are having the same problem. There is probably no fix or work-around.

Everything is fine with rapidshare, mediafire, hotfile, megupload, and the excellent russian site used by toprostov and others.

I always seem to have a problem with Deposit Files too!

Usually, I have to DL at least 2 or 3 times, and it freezes during the DL so it has to be cancelled.

Today, I just DL the Deposit Files DL manager, and for the first time, I was able to DL without stopping in the middle of the file so I am hoping this will help

You can DL the Deposit Files Manager under "tools" when the link brings you to the opening page.

I was able to put in several links, and since I am not a "gold" member, the DL stays in the scheduler and DL when the time is up for a free user.

the biggers broken at half, sent error messages: the source not readable, whole download flown into space

FWIW, I have never had any problem with DLs from them.
