I'm not English and the death of the Iron Lady, left me indifferent. I agree with Zortek and Gorgik: "you have to earn respect in life".

Also the analysis of Jake, although it may seem merciless, is correct.

It struck me negatively the "glorification" received by the media and, so to speak, from the "personalities" for a person who has been ruthless with the weak and at the service of the lobbies and the powerful. A Robin Hood in reverse.

One person who wouldn't be bothered by all this uproar? Mrs. Thatcher herself.

She was all about winning, and she won. Just as Reagan's mark on America has endured, modern Britain is very much Thatcher.

I despise glorying in the death of a human being.

BUT

I despise the lies society insists on making us all tell when someone dies even more - its as if you are a bad person unless you lie about the dead.

Thatcher revelled in being divisive - the facts remain that she REALLY hurt a lot of people. Her death un-does none of that, and it is an offence to reality and history to just pretend she was a saint. She was not - she was an extremely controversial figure who drove a wedge through Britain.

I'm not happy she's dead, but I am bloody well going to have an honest discussion about her life!

In my mind, the people popping Champagne and the people pretending she was a saint and INSISTING we all agree are EQUALLY as offensive.

Even if the song did hit number one the radio would still refuse to play it.
This is the week when the radio chart died. What is the point of a chart radio show if it wont play two of the weeks most wanted tunes. Ok so the Notsensibles is no classic but people wanted to hear it. I never thought I'd ever want to tell the BBC to fuck off but playing five seconds of each of the banned songs was too pathetic. Who needs pop radio now, these songs were never banned on youtube, spotify, lastfm and the rest.

The track was played (in full length), but without official announcement...and then Jameela only said: ''new entry from the Notsensibles at No.35''.. :thinking:

The Glee version is not bad It's catchy song actually LOL I'm neutral about Thatcher. Although I was kind of annoyed to read news about her government trying to ban gays.
