I don't really care about Star Wars. George Lucas already let them fuck over my man Indy, and I hope they don't continue to rape the amazing Dr. Jones series!

Lucas lost his magic a long time ago. I more faith in Disney reviving the franchise. This should have happened a long time ago anyway.

Indy needed a real reboot. Look how awesome Nolans batman films were. Even Spider-Man wasn't so bad. Tomb raider and superman are getting a revival soon. Sometime directors just lose their touch. I wasn't overly impressed by Scott's Prometheus prequel. Hopefully the next blade runner will be good

I doubt we will see a reboot of Star Wars: A New Hope anytime soon. Unlike Spiderman / Superman / Batman, Star Wars was not adapted from another medium (comic books), but was created for film and is revered as a cinematic treasure. Remaking the 1977 SW is as risky as remaking Casablanca or Singing in the Rain - the odds of surpassing the original are not very good.

Expect to see the post- Return of the Jedi trilogy already mapped out by Lucas. Disney can't screw up a new set of films any worse than Lucas already has with the prequels.

What about a remake of Episode I to III? :D

Star Trek the next generation was a decent update of the classic series I think sw has potential too. I personally think the originals have aged badly. I enjoyed them as a kid because they were pioneering but now I'd struggle to watch them all again.

Games like Halo 4 seem to have the spectacular imagination and universe sw had in its day. The original SW fans are probably going to be in their 50's by the time the new movies are out. I doubt keeping thing too samey and targeting that audience would work now. It has to be completely redeveloped keeping all the epic score, characters and worlds but with much more imagination and spectacle. Lucas's prequels lacked energy and passion. If the new movies get some fresh blood and energy involved they should be great. Looking at how the Tron sequel and to an extent Pirates turned out I do think Disney is a studio I can have faith in.

What they really need to do with the new star wars movies is cut Lucas out and get the license to some of the better star wars books that have been written.

I've never been a Star Wars fan but I do think with Disney backing up a new movie, it will have a great production & will probly be better than the previous ones.. unless they don't stick to the script & the plot.
