That'd be it, yes. All about preparing the field, as it were. Though in some cases, that's not really feasible, Or I suck XD Either way, really. And yeah, the ammo is way too much. That doesn't really help. If I recall, decent arrows were too damned expensive in Baldur's Gate 2, as well.
Heh, I downloaded the dagger fix like... a day or two after the game was released. My problem was purely that I tried to play one class as another, and it flat out failed miserably, heh. And you say that, funnily enough, I *have* my third playthrough waiting for me - a human noble, rogue - and you're pretty much describing how it'll be fun, what with the poisoning everything in sight. Oh yes, on that note, I like that the dialogue reflects your choice of class, at least in that particular Origin. Your nephew asking if you'll teach him how to make poisonings, and his mother protesting. I found it vaguely amusing. I haven't really thought ahead, beyond "I shall poison things a lot", so expect me to complain about how awfully I do with it soon enough, heh.
I suspect Alistair's part will be more cameo, sad to say. Really, I hope I'm wrong. I actually quite liked Ohgren (Oghren?) because of the way he hit on Wynne, so... yeah, I'm easily amused. I'm really not sure who it could be, to be honest. And... we feel the same, I think. I quite like Zevran, if only because he's damned amusing, but Alistair would've been a *much* more interesting option for a male/male romance. Think of the lategame drama it could cause if you put him forward for the throne. Especially if you make him agree to a marriage of convenience with Anora. Tsk, so much untapped hilarity. I'm tempted to do a female huan noble playthrough so that I may put myself forward as potential queen. Apparently you can do that, and make Alistair your king. Or vice versa. I didn't want to read too much and spoil myself.
And I rather like Morrigan, I just think her morality regarding the quests was a bit tacked on, purely to emphasise the "she's not a purely nice person" thing. I wouldn't call it pragmatism so much as pointless bitchery in a lot of cases. On the other hand, threatening priests IS fun : D
I haven't got it yet, no, because I've been drawn into Mass Effect 2 despite myself. Bloody Bioware, taking my money and my hours. Mmm.. and you're saying pretty much what I feared: that'd it seem a bit of a cop out. I read that its' only really worth it if you're interested in the colour of the setting and such, and more of Cailen. Thankfully, I *am* into the backstory on account of being a hopeless nerd, so I'm still all for it. A poignant ending, you say... ? Very interesting. I'll download it before playing any furthur with my current character.
Heh, I approve of that approach. I'm a wee bit simplistic in that it gives me soaring pleasure to electrify things to death. I know it won't happen, I *know*, but if we're hoping... I hope they do something like the Wild Mage from Baldur's Gate 2. Magic accidentally summoning hordes of rabbits? Dropping a cow? Turning your hair neon green? Simply causing explosions? Call me a masochist, but the amusement outweighs the frustration.
