By GayHeaven using HTTP, the company's webmaster can see whether I'm visiting gayheaven, the school's network maintenance center can also see the exact content of my post if I'm posting one (including this post), and ISP of my home network can also know whether I'm downloading porn (porn is illegal in my country)
Why I know this? Because I'm computer science major, my last company was specialized in this area of network behavior analysis, selling monitoring and analysis solutions.
While using HTTPS doesn't mean absolutely safe, at least it's end-to-end encryption, which can be a bit difficult to crack. And by contrast, using HTTP is like surfing Internet naked, anyone can see what we're viewing and posting on gayheaven, including strangers in Starbucks, who are sitting at the next table and using the same wifi as us.
So, any hope the site enabling HTTPS? It's 2020, an IT guy who knows how to do it can do it in less one hour, not a time consuming task.
