Fact or fiction: Gay Friendships Do Exist?

I find the question extremely dumb.
How is that different from 2 straight men's friendship?
And I don't think it's that hard to find... depending on your personality I guess.
I would imagine like how people with the same interests drift closer, "interest towards men" is one of those "interests".

Although I have found that I don't really get along with those cliche in-your-face gay guys. The amount of Oestrogen irritates me.

It is possible, rare but possible.......but on the other hand, a close friendship may lead to attraction on a physical and mental level, and usually lust takes over after that..................and u know what happens next! Yup.......you become Friends with Benefits!

When I read this question I cannot avoid the thought that the question is influenced by anti-gay-stereotypes, that gays fuck each other like rabbits. It's not the case. On the other hand you sometimes read the question "Can a man and a woman be friends for life?", so it can be also a general lack of imagination. (Sorry, Mr.Monkey )

One funny anekdote: Years ago, I was on a gay café party and there was a 50+ man from the countryside, who just had his come-out and knew "gay life" only from gay porn. He had some problems keeping his porn-imagination and reality apart. And so he really expected a big orgy like he knew it from porn and was very disappointed that nobody took his cock out.

Let us turn the table over for a bit! Is it possible for a straight man and a straight woman to have a lifelong platonic relationship?

Despite the fact we're all built differently and have different expectations with regards to interacting with other individuals, true friendship regardless of gender, sexuality or persuasion is always possible.

I have several gay friends and many of them share no sexual interest with me and vice versa, and this has nothing to do with attraction, but merely the fact we have no desire to sleep, flirt or tamper with someone who is as close to us as a brother.

Casual sexual partnership with friendship and nothing more is possible as I've been told, but they are complicated, which is no surprise to me as sex is far too much of an emotional experience for me to just jump on anyone without hoping for more.

As for the latter I've mentioned this several years ago that I was in love with a friend for 10 years, unfortunately he was straight and that complicated things for me, but not for us as I kept my feelings suppressed. The only reason I'm no longer in love with him was because I found someone who I loved just as much and who could've reciprocated this feeling/action.

That said if things were different and he admitted that he were bi, I'd have a lot of problems trying to keep that relationship platonic as the feeling I have for him has never left. He would definitely make an exception to my list.
