There is a section on GH where you can find scenes of ritual humiliation and mock torture. Most members find these scenes unpleasant but for the minority that do enjoy such stuff, there it is, supplying harmless fun for a niche taste. Problems do not arise, because the fetish section is clearly marked and the clips have descriptions to warn off the naive viewer.
If the method works for BDSM clips, it can work in other areas.

The purpose of Gayheaven is not to have volatile discussions and if you feel you wish to have these whether public or hidden then maybe you should find another forum to do that.I explained the foundation ideas for our forum and by becoming a member here you signed on to respect our nature...

We have what we have, boys. Lets make the best of it.

Discussion with passion, focusing on the issues without getting personal is a skill worth learning. It ain't easy.
If you want a role model, gb2000ie is it. Always passionate, with a point of view. But always classy. And never personal.

And I promise I'll never use the term YUGE at GH again...except in reference to Rocco Steele's YUGE cock!

I agree 100 percent and I have disagreed with him in the past but always liked the way he could argue an opposing viewpoint with passion without it becomming personal.

The purpose of Gayheaven is not to have volatile discussions and if you feel you wish to have these whether public or hidden then maybe you should find another forum to do that.

Those of us who love the interesting debates in the general section are not looking for a 'volatite' discussion. We're looking for an honest and frank discussion about stuff that really matters to gay people alive in 2016.

Each and every one of the controvercial topics has been intricately related to gay life. In the political discussions, the candiates' views and policies on gay rights are always central to the discussion. On the religious topics, the teachings of those religions on gays are never far from the centre of the discussion. Even on the immigration debate it was very much about the effect of immigration on gay people - one of the big fears is that the clock will get turned back by more conservative people entering the west, and that rights we take for granted will get erroded. Or, if not that, that there will be rise in violence against gay people.

I can't have a discussion on the effects of X or Y on gay people anywhere but here. It is one of the things that makes this place great.

People don't get heated about things that are not very peresonal to them, and very important to them.

Is a community really a community if you can't talk frankly about the things that are the most on your mind?

B.

P.S.
To those of you who said nice things about me, you have no idea how red my face is on my side of my monitor :blushing::blushing::blushing:

You guys rock :big hug:

If I am ever in court facing the judge, I'll give you one guess who I would ask for to be on my defence team.

I hope so much that no one here will think I'm a radical person who is only seeking here a place where I can snarl or verbally abuse others. If so you really don't knowing me!

Very often I'm playing here or too in my real life the devil's advocate.

GB is knowing me very well, so I hope, because I'll try to be here his antipode. That is very important for every debate, because without it? Sorry that would never be a debate but a monolog .

Mostly I'm not sympathetic to GB's remarks and I'll try to fight for the other direction. But will that make me really to worse person???? I think that is the general idea of every debate. I'll always take it sportingly. Sure, sometimes it will not be so successful!

Some opinions will be too for me unbearable. But than I've the free possibility to disembark from the debate.

But let me tell you one thing: as long as I live I'll fight with all of my strength for the right of everyone to say openly his opinion to this or that topic - if I like it or not!!!!

And if someone here will impugning this right for me, I would leave this community at once! If someone wants to rebuild GH to a meekly, only porn addicted place where I have perhaps the only possibility to chat about a song-contest or about what I have had for dinner - than this is not my place anymore!

Life is not meekly and there are hundreds and thousands other and great problems around us - and why we cannot discuss these problems here? Too heated! I know very well that we cannot change the world with our debates here or elsewhere. But it may help us to understand more because it is as it is, if we can hear others to this or that topic.

Well, I hope you have understand correctly what I wanted to say.

I understand what you are saying and I hope everyone will understand what I am trying to say.......When I suggested a subsection that contains more controversial topics I was not suggesting a place to have free for all knock down drag out insulting or offensive arguments.......For example it could be called something like Current World Events or something along that line......There could be strict rules such as absolutely no profanity and no personal insults or name calling allowed........Slimjim had a great idea about a cooling off period......Perhaps a first violation could result in not allowing the offending member to post in that area for 3 days to cool off, a second violation could be a 3 day suspension of ALL posting rights and a third violation a month suspension ...( just possibilities or ideas ) Whatever rules Administration decides to set and consequences they decide to apply for violations.......
The Administration and Staff here really work wonders and I am confident that given a little time they will allow more discussion but ensure that it remains a friendly place.. Porn sites are a dime a dozen but this forum is a gem .......

Great post - thank you. What you have said now here is exactly that what I wanted to say. But you have boiled it down to an essence. Great! :thumbs up:

Well as to a separate section - I don't know, it might work but it also might end up even more time consuming for the Admin and Mods.

I don't think there is anything more to be said regarding the current issue - we have expressed our concern and proposed a couple of solutions - lets leave the team some time to consider and make their decision.

( and noboby leaves GH over this ... any more talk of that and it's :butslap: ;))

I am saying basicaly the same thing as waistingmytime here.
There are two forums that I visit that have an unmoderated section, invisible to the public, for long standing members. One is mostly about sport and local politics, the other is for pro audio. These are "enter at your own risk" areas where there is much swearing and unpleasant attitude. There are limits of course, members police each other when lawbreaking is threatened. Some people feel the need to let off steam. I don't, but for those who do, it's better to let them scream away in their own padded cell than let frustration build up, and spill over into the public areas.

That's just what I need, a place where I can vent my frustrations by insulting, abusing, and berating other members and generally be a total asshole...

I consulted with the forum ownership representative and he suggested that I suggest that members who feel the need to vent on those sensitive topics may wish to consider a forum where they are allowed to dicsuss anything legal, & the thin skinned are given sufficient warning they should either keep clear or STFU...so please do not continue this discussion...

Do you mean to go elsewhere, to a different site, or that a new sub-forum will be added to GH?

I know one of the s-mods on planetsuzy pretty well. He said that Simon (former owner) just passed the network onto a new guy. All those guys really care about is traffic and monetizing it.

Robbie I am sure between yourself and Mark and the others who are part of our community here you will make the right call.:)

I think I made it abundantly clear that these forbidden discussions will not be permitted in GayHeaven!!!
I stated that I had conferred with our ownership and stated what he suggested I say....so please do not continue this discussion...We are not about abandoning morality for the sake of profit...so please stop this endless whining...Please remember Administrative decisions are final and not subject to any appeal process so to continually question the decision made by the administrative team could be considered disregarding the rules since we already answered any appropriate question in this thread, and I already stated that I consulted the ownership representative so this discussion is hereby ended
