Ahh ok now I see. I'm always logged in so haven't had to use my username & password in quite a long time. I'd hate having to switch to Firefox (way too slow especially when browsing flash-based websites).

Ain't that the truth! For me, Firefox also takes forever just to open, compared to Chrome. Chrome's working on every other website but GH, it seems.

A day or two ago Chrome updated for me, but I still cannot log on here. Now I am using Opera (for the first time) and I must say it is quite fast and similar in many ways to Chrome.

If I remember correctly what the tech staff said, it seems they've had the same kind of problems with Chrome on many forum sites on the net. So I really don't think it's a GH-only problem, definitely not.

What you say about Firefox sounds like the kind of problems I've had before with pages loading extremely slow - it's a pretty well known problem (you can google it), but there's also easy ways to fix it.

Thanks for the info! It just makes me more determined, that my love affaire with Chrome is definitely over. If they don't care about GH and other related forum sites, then why should I care about Chrome ???:angry:

For the first time I'm using Firefox, and in all honesty I do not see any difference in speed and functionality with other browsers.

Is from many years that I use Chrome, but the detachment from this browsner was not my fault.

Since Chrome is a commercial product, losing so many users is not a good thing for Google. But if their are happy for this ..... :thinking:

The deciding factor, as I see it, is not so much performance but security.
You can keep your privacy tight with Firefox and Opera.
With Chrome, Google are hoovering up all kinds of private data.
Trust them if you want, I don't.

I tried to log in to GH with Chrome just a couple of minutes ago, but no, just as hopeless as it has been the last weeks:angry:

It seems Google doesn't care :no:

With Opera not working now either, and Chrome and IE both a bust, what happens if Firefox goes too? What's left?

Are we sure browsers aren't getting in the habit of blocking certain sites? With the FCC and all the net neutrality controversy lately, I wonder.
