HOTFILES -sloooowwww!

Hello everyone.

I've just paid out a considerable sum for 6 moths of Hotfiles access, only to find that half the time I am getting download speeds as low as 3-4 KB/s , whereas some of the time it is more like 300 - 400 KB/s. It's taken 5 1/2 hours to download 27% of a 100Mb file.:worried:

Is anyone else having the same problem, and can anyone offer a suggestion for curing it?

HotFiles as a downloader site is shit.

As a cheap uploader site might be a good thing.

But that's a different matter.

From the point of view of the downloader, it's total crap.

I don't know what possessed the Moderators to allow it again.

Srry guys i dont feel your pain , I have a paid account and it works great fast downloands i download a few full movies a day no prob on my end and i know tons of ppl that feel the same way.

Thanks for your interesting (and totally opposite!) takes on my plight. I really don't want to start a Hotfile/RS war along the lines of the PC/Mac one. Do you know of any settings that can make a difference? I know Rapidshare has several, though how effective they really are I don't know.:?

Yeah I dont want a war of words either, I dont know of setting that would speed it up hotfile.

Thank you for all of this information. I just finished a dl from Rapidshare at over 500Kb/s. In the early morning I dl'd something from Hotfile at about 350Kb/s. I am now downloading the 6Mb idman file from Hotfile at... 3.8Kb/s - it should be finished in about 15 minutes!!!! Boy do I need some help! I'll keep you posted to see if there's any improvement.:worried:

It depend on the country I guess? I'm from Indonesia , and I'm okay using hotfile. Meanwhile, sometimes during the night for rapidshare, I have to checkout every 2 minutes to see if there are slots available for my country

It really depends on the country I guess. I have similar problems with megaupload while others can download without problems, so they say.

I have no problems with RS, DF, HF etc. only MU is a pain in the a... And only for a few weeks now. Before it was OK.

thanks so much for the download software!!! I avoid JDownloader because it's based on java and it could have some security problems. But I will surely try this one.

It is,but if it lets people upload hot vids then a slow download for a hot vid is better than no vid at all.

probably depends on your country.

I got max speed even when I download as a free user (even though hotfile claims there's a cap at 100kb/s for free user).
