I've been sleeping commando (nude) since I was like 16 or maybe a little earlier. I can't stand to wear clothes when I sleep. I get twisted up in them and then feel smothered and it's just too damned hot for me to rest. I sleep with at least one leg uncovered and a lot of times more than that. If I get cold I'll cover up. My partner sleeps with a t-shirt and sleep pants. We make an odd looking couple when we're sleeping I would imagine.
We have 3 dogs. They come and go on and off the bed with us. It doesn't even wake us up unless they want something and they nudge us to make room or what ever.
He goes to bed earlier than I do. I refuse to go to bed before I'm sleepy because I'll lay there with eyes wide open tossing and turning keeping him awake. I sleep maybe 6 hours a night/morning at the most. When I was a child I slept like 8 hours and wanted more. When I started college there weren't enough hours in the day and my sleep time became a lower priority.
At some point I decided sleeping one third of my life expectancy of 75 years meant I would sleep 25 of them and things had to change permanently. That is when 6 hours of sleep became the norm for me.
Now that I'm older and have fewer days left than ever sleep seems like a luxury. If I'm not sleepy I keep busy until the sandman comes knocking. I walk as much as I can. I read a lot. I work on my hobbies. I watch some TV. I even watch my partner sleep and the dogs sleeping next to him. They all snore in unison, lol. He works long hours and is very active at work. We used to bike together a lot but snot o much anymore. If I stay busy with all of those things I sleep better at night when I do finally get sleepy.
How about you? What's your sleep habit? Tell us a little about how your sleep pattern has changed over the years. It's just friendly conversation not a scientific, academic, scholarly double blind study.
