I need your input please.

Hi everyone,

I play a role in this movie and am lending a hand to my friend to promote it. I dont know how I can push it up on the google page search? And how to get to as many people as possible? We already plan on ads for Facebook and Youtube but we cant decide should we go for CPC or CPM (Pay for Clicks or Pay for Impressions)

I know a lot of us are good with computer and the internet so your inputs will be extremely valuable please.

I would always pay per click, as you know you have generated the interest when that person clicks. You're not a known brand that people will see and go 'oh I'll have a McDonalds later' over, so it's best to only pay for results.

As for boosting up the google page, make sure that you tag your page well. Load in as many metatags as humanly possible that are in any way relevant to get people finding it, clicking it and boosting it. Also you can launch a Google Adwords campaign to give yourself a bit of a spotlight for a while.

The way google works is a bit complicated...
Its not judged on the amount of clicks a link gets, rather how many pages link to it.
The google search engine assumes the more popular a page is the more it is referenced by other pages. Meaning a page that is linked to by 2 other sites is less popular than a page linked to by 100 other sites.
It assumes if a page is popular or revelant that people and other sites naturally put links to it on their sites.
So the engine searches all web pages listing all the links on it to other sites.
However this is now slightly altered as google as a company wants to make cash lol
the sponsered links at the top or side of searches are paid for to be listed when people search for certain key words.
So u can either pay to be listed at the top or get word out by way of mouth like here and other forums, sites, blogs anywhere and hope people link to it.

I have followed all of your advice! I started advertising on Facebook. I will do more on Youtube and Perez. I posted a vid on Youtube for now. Once the official trailer has been made, I will prob post it to every site possible =S

And hey! The movie falls in the short film category. I will show you guys the trailer once its out I updated the site. It should be a bit more interactive now <3

It's one thing that we in the UK generally don't appreciate (me excluded) . I love short movies but they don't sell over here and are rarely shown in cinemas, outside the arty areas. In these days of movies just being shown back to back with just ads & trailers in between there is no room for a "B" feature which was a perfect opportunity in the past to show a short film.
