I made a small donation to the International Red Cross today. Nothing very fancy though it's some money I won't be spending on futility while lots of small donations can make a difference.

Great point Nil - I was thinking about that just today. If everyone in the US just threw in $5 - money they'd spend on a cheap lunch or lottery tickets or waste in some other stupid way. it would add up to over 1.5 BILLION DOLLARS! A drop in the bucket to be sure for the total damages but enough to help with immediate needs to our brothers and sisters in Japan and yeah, regardless of all our differences in culture, politics, ethnicity and where we live - we are ALL citizens of the planet earth and if we can use the power of the internet to pull together and help each other in a time of need - we NEED TO DO IT!

I'm going to do what I can...and I challenge you to take some time to do it too! And spread the word to everyone you can...a little from each person WILL add up to a lot! I know I sound like an old hippie and I'm not but we really can help out each other if we just try.

Thanks buddies!

I find news coverage focusing on the money lost by shareholders of japanese companies while thousands have yet to be acounted for or have lost everything deeply worrying. Is tat the priorities of the media?

I couldn't agree more - getting food and shelter to the survivors, rescuing survivors, and preventing a nuclear catastrophe - those are the priorities - share rise and fall, markets rise and fall, and frankly, are irrelevant - Japan has a million more important things to worry about!

The Red Cross is the best to donate to, there are some scammers out there already which makes me made.

If you have an iTunes account you should be able to donate that way now. At first it was just in the US store, but this morning it also came on line in the Irish store, and if it's made it to here, it's probably made it to all stores :)

The Red Cross are the people who will be on the ground getting food, water and shelter to the people in dire need, I can't think of a better organisation to donate to.

My heart goes out to the woman whose daughter was washed away. I'm surprised celebrities aren't raising funds for this. Actually, why aren't they?

It all still seems very surreal. Definitely puts things into perspective for me.

Hey guys,

Many of us here are either Japanese animes, mangas, gay porns, gay hentai, bara or even yaoi fans. I am all of those (=

Right now, Japan really needs our help and supports due to the earthquakes and tsunami disasters they suffered.

Please go to www.redcross.org to get deeds on how to make donations to the relief efforts currently being carried out in Japan.

I made a donation yesterday and that brought me such happiness although my contribution was not much...

For those who live outside of USA, you can also visit your countries' respective red cross organizations websites for details.

Let's give Japan some much needed helps (=

I know Japan is a rich country but what has happened to them has stretched them to breaking point. In the name of humanity they deserve our help in any way we can give it.
