Ok, I'mma try to name states off the top of my head....

Michigan, Indiana, Oregon, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Alabama, Kansas, Alaska.... I'd recognise any given state as a state of the US I reckon...

Well in fairness to her most Europeans could not name more than a handful of U.S. States --each state being comparable to a country.

I know almost 40 states. And I'm german!

That's not that hard.

There are about three times more states of america.

The point is that we have 16 of these "areas" :rofl:. They have 50.
I'm not that wise as you ))), but I know that 50 is more than 16.

BTW: Berlin is one of the smallest Bundesländer. Why should I call the others provinces to allude on their size?!

You know what the word Provinz does also mean in German do you? I wasn't calling Berlin the BIG City... compare Grosse Stadt to provinz.

I didn't know what Bundesland means. I googled it and voila: provinces

Berlin is a big city... but not a big Bundesland

The Saarland has aproximatly 1 million inhabitants. Berlin has over 3.4 million.

We might be three times bigger by area, but... we're the smallest Non-City-State

The number of inhabitants doesn't say something about the size of the state.
I was talking abou the state. Not about a city.
