I find it remarkable that laws from a Judean tribe from thousands of years are still being imposed as legislature in our age.
abomination in hebrew is "toevah" which means ritually unclean. The laws of leviticus (priestly laws) are a clear example of the hierachy of their times, no mention of female homosexuality, purely because women werent that important. Masturbation was also forbidden. Oh course hetrosexuality was encouraged to keep generations, because the younger ones were relied upon to look after the elders and to defend.
The laws have also been explained as laws against prostitution taken place in the temples.
The laws should be looked upon as how the ancients lived, not as a law of modern day life.
