Weird. The last day or so, when I select the title choice from Forum Tools, the page I am on is made read, but when I go to another, earlier page, those posts are not marked read. I tested it as follows:

1. on page 1

2. mark the forum read

3. go to page 2, do nothing

4. return to page 1

5. the posts that were marked read a few seconds ago show unread again

???

Also, I can come to a forum which shows many unread posts, but mixed in there are many that show as read. Every time I leave any forum, I mark all posts unread, so this behaviour should not occur.

???

EDIT: I just did the above and went to a higher level forum. When I went to the top level, the forum I was in shows no new posts. But when I went to that forum, the several posts I had just marked as read were again showing as unread.

???

Hi Ggold.. there has been an issue with the "time stamp" today.. some posts were timed several hours ahead of the correct time.. i.e posted at 12:00 but appearing on GH with a time of 16:30 and when that error cleared it meant that new posts were appearing way down the board.. at the correct time.

I was seeing the same problem.. I would read all the posts then later when I went back I saw all these new/unread posts.. but not at the top, but in the middle of the page.. or even down onto page 2..

As the "real time" catches up and overtakes the wrong time on the posts it should all settle down.

Changing the time backwards on a bulletin board has some funny side effects as until the board catches up with where it was before the time was wound back. For a while, the past is in the future!

Everything seems to be back to normal now, at least it is for me.

But that doesn't explain the set/reset part of the issue does it? Hmmm ... unless the time is continually changing so that it keeps falling behind. X_X

I was just thinking about that aspect and coming back to edit my post... it may be that until the "wrong time" has been passed the reset will not work as it cannot recognise a post if it's time is "ahead".

I think the "time stamp" glitch is cleared now so you (hopefully) shouldn't have any more problems.

that is correct gb2000ie. . . the correct forum time has now caught up to the old forum time so things should be back to normal (Voyager)
