In The Netherlands we have elections September-12. I can choose from twenty different parties, but still it is a hell of a job to find one that suits me. I start to separate the suitable parties from the unsuitable (for my opinion of course), so there are four left to make a choice. And even than there is the option vote for none of the parties. I did once. I teared the ballot paper and have the scraps thrown into the ballot box.
I don't like Romney, but still have my doubts about Obama.

I think his first two years in office had some very important achievements. I'm grateful that he was there when we really needed him.
I suspect the next term will be much like the last two years...stalemate with the radical right. Better that than the alternative.
Do what you can out there in Colorado, Josh. It could be a key state in a close election. (My state, Massachusetts, is a given for Obama).

I pick neither--I'll be voting for Jill Stein of the green party, thus avoiding a false choice between two platforms that put endless war and corporate power above the environment, the economic well-being of the people and human rights. Obama is a war criminal that belongs in jail, and as a radical queer, I am against his policies.

I hope everyone who can vote does vote, even if you think they're both bastards please vote for somebody. The right of universal sufferage has been so hard won, people have risked and lost lives so that you can tick box A or box B. Use it before they take it back off you.
Well, I have to admit that I haven't noticed much of Obama so I cannot tell much about the quality of the things he's done. But he would get my vote because I'm not into crazy christians and whatever the Republikans have it store...
How people can vote against their own self interest is amazing to me. You'd think self worth would be enough of a motivation. But I will stab myself in the eye to save my face.
Obama ended Don't Ask, Don't tell.
He made an executive order granting benefits to federal employees who are gay.
He has directed his Justice cabinet to work against the Defense of Marriage Act in the hopes that the courts would overturn the law on Constitutional grounds. And if Congress were to present him with a bill granting Marriage Rights to Gays, he would sign it into law.
Romney's 'charity' to the Mormon church provided the $$$ behind the Mormon church's push to end Gay Marriage in California. (Momentarily defeated. Thank god.)
It is the official Republican position to strike down every gay right bill on every level of government : City, State and Federal.
They have passed or attempted to pass legislation to deny Gays the right to adopt children.
The list goes on and on.
What self respecting gay man can vote himself into permanent second class status? How does one get to place where you say, "Fuck me."
What would be so important??? You want to protect the rights of Energy companies to drill oil and then sell it on the open market? Frack for gas and ignore the mounting evidence of earthquakes, methane in drinking water and sink holes? Pass person hood legislation that would ban some forms of contraception, crush the hopes of many who want to bear children and cant, while forcing women to bear the children of rapists. What an odd combination of toxic drinking water and unwanted pregnancies. Perhaps when those fetuses start popping up with 3 heads, will they be one 'person' or 3? And what woman having gone through the pain of a failed pregnancy, have to face potential criminal prosecution? Is the end justifying the mean, eliminating National endowment for the Arts? Add 2 trillion more dollars over the next ten years to a bloated Military budget when we ALREADY have more military spending than the rest of the industrialized powers combined???? Provide more tax cuts to Corporations and the wealthy. Many of whom pay near or zero taxes as it is?
I say climb out of that closet and grow some.
Romney has 0% support of Black Americans. And given Republican positions on things they care about, that is exactly the number he deserves. Given the Republican position on Gay issues, they should be at 0% with us as well.
Vote for at least 'trying' to make this a more perfect Union. All people count.

ron paul is ma man. He is the only one who is able to solve the big problems of the USA. His problems is that he says the truth, but the big media companys and the economy dont want to hear the truth. They just want to make more money without moral standars. I hope the one day the americans see what potential ron Paul's thoughts have.
