Was it meant to be fun or informative? The dude ask a question, some of us replied, but when wrong information are given that's when the fun goes away.

Although this claim is often made, I personally doubt it. I think it's far more likely that the first trading would have taken the form of bartering one kind of food for another, "Swap you that stegosaurus thigh for half of my mammoth steak", or food for services rendered, such as one member of the tribe who was particularly good at making spears, clubs etc., doing that in return for a share of the food from the hunting party.
