Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver

Hey Guys, I am a Pokemon newbie as Ive just recently bought SoulSilver. I was under the impression that Pokemon was for little kids, but have gotten hooked on it. Is there any point to getting HeartGold, or is it more or less identical to SoulSilver ?? Is this just some marketing ploy to put out two games at the same time and have them samey??:?:?

They are pretty much identical besides a differing set of pokemon that you can get (including the legendary (kinda the biggest one)), a few little storyline related bits, but they're pretty small. However it does essentially give you the oppurtunity to have 2 save files within the game (as you only get one per cartridge).

I think owning both is more of a Pokenut sorta thing.

I'm currently a Pokemon widow so... y'know XD

Well, there are some Pokemon exclusive to each game, so no, don't buy the other one - just a marketing trick! You can just trade the lone few that you cannot catch. But otherwise, they are almost identical

well ... its a nice gimmick from all the way back to the blue/red version
its much more useful to have a friend of your who also likes the game buy the other version
so you guys can trade between you two
(also there are some pokemons that only evolve once traded (such as the rock guy 3rd evolution ... dont remember the name of the critter... )

Just buy one and find a friend to have the other! I've got a good friend I've had for years and we always get the opposite ones and just trade whatever we have to!
