I’m surprised to see that there are still people who think that DD (or CH and DS which is from the same company) is ‘real’. Of course not. Guys who participate in the scenes have to provide an ID (passport, ID card, driver’s license), a copy of which is necessary to prove that they are not under age. Furthermore, they have to sign a contract that they agree to the scene made public through internet or DVD. Lastly, most of the times a recent STD test is required because the tops don’t want to catch any nasty surprises.
So there is nothing spontaneous about CH, DD or DS. It is all scripted and staged.
The guys that do scenes for CH, DD or DS can be divided into 4 categories:
1. Guys that have done scenes for other studios and are approached to do a scene for DD, CH or DS. Examples: Connor Rex in CH 326, David Kadera in DD 216 and Igor Galek/Greg Noll in DD 205.
2. Guys who want to work in the (straight) porn industry but cannot get work for the mainstream studios. So they do a scene for CH, DD or DS in the hope to get attention from mainstream studios.
3. Guys who work as a gay escort. You can usually tell because of their sexual skills although some of the models are good actors! They are asked to act very straight to give the format credibility. A good example is the model in DD 218.
4. Guys who need money quick and that see doing gay porn as a way to earn money fast.
Whether you like the formats of CH, DD or DS is an entirely different question. Personally I don’t like DD but watch it because I’m interested in the Czech gay porn industry and want to keep up with models and studios. Some of the scenes of CH I like but I don’t like the episodes in which the guy struggles with the sex. Sometimes it is painful to watch.
My guess is that people who like BA don’t like scenes from CH, DD or DS. They want to see ribbed abs, sun tanned bodies, exotic locations, and happy, smiling guys. But in all honesty, the reasons for the BA models to do gay porn may not be very different from the ones that do scenes for CH, DD and DS. It may come as a surprise to some but several BA models work as an escort. But BA portrays the models as happy (upper) middle class guys so that we don’t think about their social background.
“Image is everything” and that is certainly true when it comes to gay porn.
