At first I'm surely not ein jammernder Deutscher (a moaning German),

Moaning but not a moaner?

Why I must always and to all times and again and again hear that we Germans must be deeply ashamed because of the Concentrations Camps...

If it happens "all times and again and again" I'm sure you have some examples for me, since it never happens to me, when I meet people from other countries or nations. For example the internet. Since 2006 I'm on the net and on all kind of forums etc. NEVER have I been called a Nazi or anything like that. I've also been to several countries.

So since it never happens to me but "all the times" to you I could ask you on what occasions people from other nations told you personally you should be "deeply ashamend". Three examples would suffice. Did it happen in this forum? Anwers like "all the time" would not count.

I could also ask you in how many countries you've been in how many of them people told you to be "deeply ashamed"?

But I'm kind enough not to ask.

At the end of the 90s I also have been hesitant to tell I'm german in other countries and always said "I'm from the dutch border" It had more to do with me than with the people from the country I was. I then decided it was ridiculous and stopped with it.

second - my schooltime is not so far away and I know what my teachers told us - so that sometimes I would have loved to leave the class-room (and I'm surely not a Nazi-follower or so) third - I've never ever denied historical facts about the crimes of the Third Reich - but I'm not guilty about it and I hate kin liability.

The german past is a difficult one (which btw. can be indeed an advantage intellectually). If all you remember of your school time is that your teachers told you should be "deeply ashamend" I guess it's more of a mixture of imagination and selective cognition. It has more to do with you than with what's really going on.

German teachers don't teach their children to be "deeply ashamed". It's also not the in the history books. It's also not taught at the universities.

Hi Ihno - not this evening. My boyfriend has it fobidden to me to answer. Because my temper and my blood pressure is very high after reading your - let me say slightly (to be courteous!) arrogant, patronizing and in a know-it-all manner text. So not this evening - because I think we could loose our friendship!

But nevertheless I'll answer your questions. And believe me - I may be young, perhaps younger than you (I don't know) but I've been too in foreign countries. I'm not the hillbilly you are trying to illustrate me here.

We are not at work now, we come here because its fun, F-U-N, even though the topic we have here is a million miles away from being funny, it is the topic that is dead serious.
We can talk about unhappy things without becoming unhappy ourselves.
I was talking to a german boy, he said he was from Dresden. I got into talking about feeling guilty for the terrible crime our RAF did to the beautiful city of Dresden. He said "Ok yes, but Luftaffe did very bad things also" And that was that. Neither of us could do anything about past. Except never to let it happen again. We can't change the past but we can change the present. Something my country could do now is control the London money laundry. A lot of the dodgy money that gets sanitised in London is Russian related. I'm not financialy literate so I dont know how it can be done but when GCHQ can trace phone calls from all over the world, they must have some clues about how billions of dollars, pounds and roubles can appear and dissappear as if by magic. Oh wait, I just been hearing about certain Russian billionaires making large donations to the conservative party. Why would Russia's rich and powerful give money to a British right wing party? Out of the kindness of their hearts or to get something in return.

Hi Ihno - in this special case for the last time! Really! Yesterday a very good friend here gave me a piece of good advice and a really very good text which I should write to you in answering your attack. It was really a very, very good text and I loved it - but than I slept over it and today the world is new again and I think it is not worth to carry forward this silly discussion or argument. I think as well our controversial will be insulting all the many victims of this crime or disaster. So this will be the last words from me to this annoying discussion which has in the end nothing more to do with the start of this primary thread!

But once more to my dear friend here, which gave me these wonderful words for an answer, thank you so very much. I love you for your words to calm down. That has been something I'll never forget. YOU ARE WONDERFUL my friend and I'm proud to call you as "my friend" which comes deep of the bottom of my heart.
