Presented in 1977, Matra Simca Rancho (not too expensive to produce) was a marketing success. On a 1100 pick-up body lengthened at the rear, Matra put his own cell in resin polyester. The engine come from a Simca 1308 GT.

May 1985 : around 25 years after its disappearance, the elegance contest is reborn with the magazine Auto-Rétro.

Left : Leon Zitrone, TV journalist of this time, presents the contest.
Right : Harold Kay, radio host on Europe 1 and famous Jaguar amateur. Behind, Philippe Aubry the director of the magazine Auto-Rétro.

"La Garde Républicaine", the guest of this event.

The judges list.

Harold Kay (1926 - 1990) : a marathonian of the microphone

From left to right : the humorist Michel Leeb, the host Harold Kay and the director of Auto-Rétro magazine Philippe Aubry.
Harold Kay commented five Auto-Rétro festivals more some "Coupe de l'Age d'Or" at Montlhéry. Anyway, he was more famous as radio/TV host.

The Jaguar MK2 3.8 liter of Harold Kay shoted by Dingo

Rétroviseur was the challenger and rival magazine of Auto-Rétro.

Some said that Harold Kay ordered the model exhibited on Jaguar stand at Paris Motorshow 1965. It was certainly his favorite car that he kept all his life.
