Survey time - who smokes?

I'm not going to be judgmental to non-smokers!! :p

I'm just curious (nosey :p ) who here smokes and what do the non-smokers think of it ?

I'm "old school" very much with this. I hate the smoking ban in the UK but can understand it. It's helping to destroy the great pubs (bars) we have.

I totally understand the hatred by non-smokers, but tolerance please ;)

I've smoked on & off for 3 decades now, and I've quit so many times. I can't though, I'd rather do without beer than ciggies.

Love to hear your thoughts & opinions.

(Well it's better than talking about shit LOL :p)

I've quit so many times it's ridiculous. The longest was for nearly three years, but one night while shitfaced, I bummed a smoke off of a friend and the next day, I bought a pack of my own.

Yeah, I'm stupid like that.

I love the taste of taste of tobacco on a guy's lips - I'd hardly notice now, but in my non-smoking times I still liked it ;)

Well I quit drinking and almost quit drugs (a little weed every 3-4months) the only vices I have left are smoking and porn. Besides I gained 40lbs. when I quit drinking, can you imagine how big I'd blimp up if I quit smoking...

Whats really bad is the cigarette prices here have sky-rocketed, the new taxes imposed a few months ago have almost doubled the price. I live right on the border of Kentucky, which has some of the cheapest cigarette prices in the US and even the cheapest sawdust infused generic cigarettes will cost you about $30 a carton,Marlboros will run you about $50. And more taxes are on the way...

But I found a way around it, someone suggested that I could get them cheaper online, so I did a little investigating and fount that, indeed you can get them much cheaper online, but there's a catch. Most of these online companies are in countries that have treaties with the US government that require them to report you purchase so Uncle Sam can send you a bill for the taxes you tried to cheat him out of...

Most countries that is except Switzerland, whose privacy laws expressly forbid them from reporting you to the authorities (gotta love the Swiss) so now I get most of my cigaretts from here...

***Marlboros currently are not available, but they sent me a notice that they will be soon...

Well, I tryed once but I have never smoked (and I won't)...

That's not completely true because I'm smoking everyday thanks to all the smokers I've around LoL. I'm always trying to convince my friends to quit it.

Furthermore I'm kinda intolerant since I don't like its smell and I hate when my clothes are impregnated of smoke :p.

It's a bad vice... it consume only money and health...

BTW I know that for many people it's a pleasure and I've nothing towards them.

I enjoy smoking - I'd mortgage my soul to the Devil (I can't I'm an aethiest :p ) but I can do without them for several days at times.

I smoke a lot - 25 a day I reckon, sometimes more - but I never wanted to be old :p

Knowing my luck I'll live to 100 :p

Don't smoke, never even tried. Also never tried alcohol or weed, yes, I'm that lame.

I'm pro-smoke ban in the cinemas and discos (the smoke machines on most dancefloors are bad enough) but think every pub should make their own decision whether to allow smoking or not.

Some of my friends are smokers, my mum smoked throughout my whole childhood (but kicked the habit years ago), I lived with smoking room-mates (and not only nicotine-smoking ones). One of my ex-boyfriends was a smoker, but that won't happen again. It's where I draw the line for me, I don't wanna kiss a smoker.

smoker...love/hate relationship for sure. But love it with a drink and love it in the morning with coffee. But I am also a considerate smoker and would never light up in anyones house, smoker or non, or while driving or things of that nature. The bans here in the States dont bother me...just wish they'd have ashtrays outside the door.

I smoke. When I fought cancer the first time, I quit for two years. I started smoking again, and I doubt I am going to give it up. For me, it is an addiction, but it is also a great way for me to unwind after a stressful day (or hour :)). I understand why people are against it and totally respect that, but after trying medications, hypnosis, cold turkey, patches, gums, etc., I will quit when my body is ready.

I tried smoking for the first time when I was about 13.
My best friend and I swiped a cigarette from her gramps and tried smoking.
In contrast to me she liked it and started smoking regularly a few weeks later.

I don't mind my friends somking but I don't do it myself.

Sometimes when I'm with friends I smoke hookah but that's rarely the case.
