Powell became famous in the 1940s and 1950s in musical films for MGM, including Seven Brides for Seven Brothers with Howard Keel and Royal Wedding with Fred Astaire.

In the 1970s Sinclair invented the first affordable handheld calculator (the Sinclair Executive). In the early 1980s he produced the first home computer sold for under £100 - the Sinclair ZX80. Tommy Kirk was a a Disney child star in the 1950s starring in Old Yeller, The Shaggy Dog, Swiss Family Robinson, The Absent-Minded Professor, and The Misadventures of Merlin Jones. His Disney career ended when the studio found out he was gay.

After Disney he moved to American International Pictures (AIP) and did Pajama Party with Annette Funicello. Shortly afterward he started to slide into drug addiction and his movies got worse.

He left show business and came out in 1973 and started a successful carpet cleaning business in the San Fernando Valley.

After much campaigning from gay fans, Tommy Kirk was inducted as a Disney Legend on October 9, 2006, alongside his former co-stars Tim Considine and Kevin Corcoran.
