Anne Heche became well known on daytime TV playing twins on Another World, before breaking into movies like Donnie Brasco, Volcano, and Six Days, Seven Nights.

She never regained consciousness after a car crash on Friday and the cirstances are raising questions in the ongoing investigation. In a sad parallel, Anne's brother Nathan died in a car crash as a teenager. Anne claimed that it was a suicide. Her father, who came out as gay, died of AIDS. Her mother became a therapist with Focus on the Family doing ex-gay counseling. Anne had a very public relationship with Ellen DeGeneres for three years, before deciding that she wasn't gay. She was married and divorced twice in the last 10 years.
