Ennio MORRICONE (1928)

He was an Italian composer; orchestrator & musician. He composed over 100 classical works but will known more for the 500+ scores for cinema and television over his 7 decade career including, well where do you start, Once Upon a Time in America; The Untouchables; La Cage aux Folies; Cinema Paradiso; Two Mules for Sister Sara; The Mission; and Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, for which he won the Oscar.

Yet he will probably be most fondly remembered for the haunting melodies he wrote for the trilogy of 1960s westerns Sergio Leone made with the then little-known Clint Eastwood - A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

In my opinion Ennio Morricone is the greatest composer of film music of all times; he put his stamp on the movies & quite often you remember movies just because of Morricone's music.

RIP Ennio Morricone - musician, composer, artist.
