Tumblr is Turning Off Porn

Yep, the day has finally come! On December 7, 2018, Tumblr is officially going to make adult content banned. So for all of you who like my picture threads, Tumblr was where I was getting a lot of them from. So I'm going to have to find different sources now. DiviantArt and Flickr I know still allow adult content, so this is where I'll be turning to in the mean time. If any of you know other good adult related picture sites, please let me know.

In the mean time, so long to Tumblr. You were a good friend for the last few years, and I'll be sorry to see you go.

Maybe Tumblr should just create a second platform exclusively for the adult related material.

There must be a good reason for this. Maybe they are planning to sell to merge with a bigger company or something like that. Maybe Twitter will buy them and use them as a supplementary service.

What percentage of tumblr blogs are porn based? Might be lower than we think? Maybe only 20%? Has anyone asked that question or discovered a way to find out.

I dont know much about tumbler--how does one find the porn posted on it

When I first started I just did a search for "Twink Porn" since I'm more into younger guys like myself rather than the older, hairy, bear types. Once I found a few good photos I would check out the blogs that also "liked" that photo. And I just kept doing that over and over. Ended up finding some really good sites that had really good photos.

The ones that I'm going to miss the most are not the ones that were flat out "porn". I really liked the blogs that were more artistic. If you look at my threads, you'll kinda get an idea of the type of porn that I did enjoy. I liked the nude photos that were'nt really meant to get you off, but those that were more aspiring. Hope that makes sense.

What is really ironic is that Apply wouldn't allow Tumblr on their platform because Tumblr didn't remove the adult content. So does that mean Flickr and DeviantArt, PornHub, XVideos, and Grindr are going to be ousted as well?

I get that Tumblr is it's own thing, and they have every right to limit what kind of content they allow on their platform. However, a lot of people enjoy the adult content without it being bad. One good thing about Flickr that I've noticed is that it has a lot less "bad" content. Flickr is more the artistic. There were a ton of blogs on Tumblr that I reported because of what they were showing. I think I've flagged maybe half dozen on Flickr.

Well, life goes on right? Things change and just have to change with it. The content will still be out there. Just have to find where it went to.

Now if we could only change the rules on GH about video streaming and life would be good!

I was never really into tumblr. The content was too disjointed for my liking. You'd see a random picture of a hot guy(that clearly came from some studio). The original title and filename wouldn't be preserved so you'd have to go hunting for a gallery. When they introduced safe mode that needed an account, I stopped using it.

I preferred blogspot how it was a good-few years ago. Before google started messing with its services and stuff i.e. also wanting to get rid of the porn. Oh for the hayday of blogs like guyparade!

I will admit though that the mixed content that Tumblr had (i.e the porn, food, landscapes, architecture, animals, etc., was a bit problematic. Take GH here for example. When we all signed up, we knew that we were signing up for an adult website that has videos and pictures of sexual activity. In the mean time, there are threads here on GH that have nothing at all to do with sex. There are great threads that don't have one sexual picture in them at all. But the main focus of the site is, of course, gay sex!

Tumblr really didn't have a good way to not show sexual content if a viewer didn't want to see it. Say that I reblogged a fabulous picture of a waterfall and because of that you clicked on the link to view my whole blog. Well, if you ever saw my blog you would have seen that every other picture was one of a half naked, or fully naked twinkish guy. Not exactly something that you would want popping up if you were looking in your living room with your family running around.

I know that there are a lot of us that are disappointed that Tumblr is changing their guidelines on 17th, but at least I can see it from their point of view too. I only wish that they had done something like Blogger where when you click on the direct blog link you get a huge warning page that if you continue you may see adult content. That was someone could back out before going to the site. I'm sure that there are fixes that Tumblr could have done to restrict and limit the viewing without taking away from the enjoyment of those like myself that ran an adult oriented blog.

I've heard that there is a site (bdsmlr.com) that is working to make their site Tumblr like. On their main page they said they had a huge spike in membership as well. Hopefully it works for them, I'll be checking them out as well.

In the mean time, please continue to enjoy the threads that I put up, as I'll continue to scour the web for the best in pictures.
