Ha! I got everyone beat. I was 8. Yes, Eight!! Well, not really. My parents were killed in a car crash when I was 8 and I was moved into foster care. If you want to call them parents, then I moved out on my own when I was 13 when I had had enough of that life.

OMG to loose your parents at such an early age. That must have been soooooo terrible :(

Did you get moved around foster parents until the age of 13, or just one family? And when you finally left the system at 13. What did you do?

I was 18. Moved out for a year with my boyfriend at the time. Moved back home and eventually bought my first house at age 23 and lived on my own ever since

Yes, I got moved around to a number of different families. The first few months was just trying to get me into a stable place. Some were good, some were bad, I was just tired of being bounced around.

When I left, I ran away to here in Los Angeles area and met an older teen who got me started in hustling to make money. And from there, life really began!

Yea, I'd say that I got through it OK. Was hard at first that they weren't around and I didn't really understand why they weren't coming home and I was being shuttled from house to house. Looking back I don't think I really understood what death was until I was about 10. I can remember getting the what death is speech is more times than I want to remember.

And to be honest, I'm still working on getting over it because all of their stuff is still in storage in Chicago and I have not been back to go through it yet. Though Nick and I have tentative plans to go next summer.
