Alright. Forgive me, but I'm about to GLEEK OUT!
OK, first off; let a couple of things be known:
1. I am
not a Barbra or Judy sort of gay dude. No disrespect to the ones who are, but I'm just not that sort of guy. I know that they are both considered to be huge gay icons and I do respect that very much.
2. Last year, if you told me I would be a "Glee" fan; I would've laughed in your face. I saw "High School Musical" one and two and didn't really see the need to see a show that seemed to be a continuation of that whole phenomenon. It was only after this season where the first episode had the amazing singer Charice join the cast and the second was a tribute (of sorts) to my favorite performer Britney Spears that I felt I had to watch it... and I am officially hooked.
Alright, that's out of the way.
Last night's episode, "Duets" was completely... amazing! I don't want to spoil it for all of my fellow Gleeks out there, but there were great funny moments as well as some completely amazing ones... and this is one of the latter ones.
The last duet of the night was performed by two of the more powerful cast members, Lea Michele (who plays the obsessive Rachel) and Chris Colfer (who plays openly gay Kurt). There was a very special moment that led to this final duet that MUST be seen, especially in the light of the very sad gay suicides that have been occurring as of late. Following it, the two of these very special talents combined their beautiful voices and performed a medley of "Happy Days Are Here Again" and "Get Happy", that completely blew my mind... I have listened to it countless times since last night and I fall more and more in love with it with each repeat... pure, unabashed and wonderful... that's all I can say.
Here's "Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy"... see if you fall in love with it, too.
