My van broke down. That's not the good news. The RAC breakdown man was not available, that sounds like worse news, but wait, they passed the call on to a local breakdown service. The RAC man would have wanted to do the job properly, costing time and money. The local man just did a quick kludge to get me going at no extra charge, so it was good news in the end.
That's the sort of man I like, fast, dirty and cheap.

A really wonderful story about reactions to the horrors in Orlando this weekend. And I can attest: Fireplace is not what you'd call a 'tourist friendly' gay bar - it tends towards the older, on-the-DL, hard-drinking crowd. I'm proud they were so welcoming (though not at all surprised).

Fantastic - the kind of thing that makes your day! I once had a fantastic time with an RAC man. After he'd finished with my car, he got to work on me - one of the best hook-ups I've ever had. :thumbs up:

The mobile came back with a new battery - but so clean like a baby-bum after a bath. Totally empty!

That is disappointing. Battery failure is common enough for powerful phones that the shop should have had spares ready so that the device was not left without power for so long that the backup power was lost as well. Did they suggest not leaving it plugged in once it reaches full charge, ie avoiding overcharging which shortens the battery life.

Thank you for the tip. Yes very often I've done that. When I was going to bed I've plugged my mobile - and that for the whole night. You may be right that it was finally an overcharging. They told me too to deactivate the mobile during the night. So I've learned from my mistakes.

Today again a visit at my doctor's office. And he gave me the permission to go back to work on Monday. My thorax always is hurting (not so much as in the beginning and it will be better with every day) but I can go back to work! He is happy that I won't get on his nerves anymore! - And my beloved one is happy that normalcy will now return! He said to me, that in the last days I really was cranky! Do you think so????
