My husband starts his vacation this weekend and we were going to go to Atlanta to see Ya Lun and Xi Lun the giany Panda twin cubs. Today however Suriyothai our lilac point siamese gave birth to 4 beautiful babies so I had to cancel the trip. I got a cat lover when I called United and I got a refund on our tickets. I am so happy because they were cheaper tickets and not supposed to be refundable. I wasn't even going to call because usually non refundable tickets can't be refunded. Thank you United!

That's the way it goes. Reminding you of the truth behind a line in a Beatles song.

"That a man must break his back to earn his day of leisure?"…Girl, The Beatles

I got a phone call last Wednesday from a rich lady that used to donate a lot to the animal charity I worked at before I retired. She was in a panic because her Siamese cat had 4 kittens and the mother stopped feeding them after five weeks and she was unable to get them to eat on their own. I went and picked them up and kept them in my office away from my own cats and after two days they were eating like they should. I use a syringe and get the kittens used to the tatse and they take it from there. I took her kittens back and she wanted to pay me which I refused because I did it for the babies. I got a delivery from Chewys today of 5 cases of Blue Mountain canned cat food and 6 11 lb bags of Blue Mountain wellness dry food. I am happy and so our my fur babies.

It's weird but I became happier after I realised how much I needed to be content with myself, regardless of a relationship. When I started dating again few months back, I realised I needed space and independence to actually build myself and evolve into who I wanted to be, and a relationship was not really the answer to my depression- it was dragging me down.
I cut ties, started learning things, especially how to be content with myself, who I am and what I look like (i'm skinny).

Not quite happy as feeling vindicated. I confess I opened an account with Facebook under an assumed name, but that was only to connect with two ex-friends (who both replied two years late) and to check on a few former chums from uni (who all did not elicit further interest).

Over all, I felt that I really did not need to go on Facebook. Now it turns out I have very good reasons not to.

My heart swelled with hope to watch the young people manifesting their civic consciousness by marching in the thousands. Perhaps after seeing our expectation plumbed the bottom, there’s no other way for it but to bounce back.
