Ribeye steak from the supermarket and cooked in my home kitchen. Served with salad and mashed potatoes. All liberally garnished with fresh cilantro chopped very fine.

This week has been a cardiologist worst nightmare. We have this thing called "The Westside Nut Club Fall Festival". It's the second largest street fair in the US after Mardi Gras. They close down a six block stretch of the street for it. In addition to rides and games, there are about 137 food booths serving every imaginable example of fair food and some unimaginable, like fried Kool-Aid and scorpion-on-a-stick. Pretty much anything they can think of is battered and fried.

My artery clogger of choice?

The Monte Cristo...

Ham, turkey, and swiss sandwich dipped in batter and fried. Dusted with powered sugar and served with raspberry jelly...

Yummy!

it's okay to have one ONCE a year...ENJOY!:thumbs up:

So many people run away from ANY unhealthy choice. You have to LIVE too...enjoy bad things in extreme moderation and but enjoy life too. No one could eat a Monte Cristo everyday and if they do they DESERVE to be 500lbs.

For the first time ever, I had a Lamb (leg steak) that was seasoned with a thyme and herb butter. It was awesome! :)

Pan-fried aubergine, mushrooms fried in butter with rosemary and thyme, steak, chips, and a lovely Belgian beer. I burned 2,200 kcal cycling, so I was able to enjoy it all 100% guilt-free :D
