No!!!! How could they? I'll have to watch it of course being a Western addict , but I know already the John Wayne original won't be beaten for me.

I liked the remake of 3.10 to Yuma but still prefer the original version, not always the case but usually.

The strangest remake was the 1988 TV Version of "Red River" with James Arness in the John Wayne role. It was odd because it was the exact same script and seeing other actors coming out with the classic lines just looked odd - and of course was far less effective. The original might have been made in black & while in 1948 but still one of the superior westerns and nobody could ever improve on it.

To get back on topic, last I saw was the ridiculous "Independence Day" again on TV over the weekend. Sci Fi was always better in books :p

I guess "remake" isn't exactly the correct term to use...

The original was adapted for John Wayne and the story edited and softened for the times...

This is more like another movie based on the same book but more accurate...

It's grittier, more violent and Rooster Cogburn is meaner, cruder and not quite as heroic as the iconic John Wayne...

Like I said, it's not better nor is it worse than the original, just different...

The story of Chess records in the 1950s. It's enjoyable, flows along well, good soundtrack, but like other historical music geeks I could be very picky about it. I won't be as I enjoyed it for what it is. Don't watch it for any historical accuracy. The real stories would have been just as interesting but no, as usual film makers have to create a work of mostly fiction.

Still, the good thing about these movies is atracting those who didn't know anything about the likes of Etta James, Muddy Waters or Chuck Berry to find out more about them.

Beyonce was passable as Etta James but whatever vocal flaws she has nobody could ever follow an act like Etta.

A lot of mistakes (not to mention using 1960s Chuck Berry tracks in the 1950s!) but worth a look!

I just finished "The Green Hornet"...

Much better than I was expecting. I like the way Seth Rogan (who wrote the script) actually made Kato's character more the real hero than sidekick, to Rogan's bumbling Hornet...

I always thought the TV series downplayed Kato way too much, after all he was the real talent of the duo...

Oh, and The Black Beauty is still awesome...

Finally got the chance to watch Inception, what a great movie;and to my surprise Joseph Gordon-Levitt was looking pretty hot in this film.
