OK so not to everyone's taste - as this 1984 classic has no car chases; fights; CGI effects etc …… just a quirky story, well told, beautifully filmed and with an atmospheric soundtrack from the steel guitar of Ry Cooder.
Directed by Wim Wenders and starring the late-great (and IMHO always watchable) Harry Dean Stanton; Dean Stockwell & Nastassja Kinski
It's a long film that moves at a slow pace but worth a watch.

The plot focuses on a vagabond named Travis who, after mysteriously wandering out of the desert in a dissociative fugue, attempts to reunite with his brother and seven-year-old son . After reconnecting with his son, Travis and the boy end up embarking on a voyage through the American Southwest to track down Travis' long-missing wife.
