For Shelter a movie about a war, military coup, spanish movie

Mientras dure la guerra (while the war lasts)

Directed by Amenabar show Unamuno's life, spanish writer

Hi Manolitorr - thank you so much for your recommendation. I will look for this film - I have until now heard nothing from it. So I don't know if I can get it German dubbed (because, I beg your very pardon, I've never ever learned the Spanish language - allthough I think it is the most beautiful language of the world!) - but as I said I will look for. p:p

Just I've read - the english title is WHILE AT WAR. It's from the Spanish civil-war. And I would be really very interested in.

A great film from 1987 but today always (sadly) relevant: CRY FREEDOM from Richard Attenborough starring Kevin Kline and Denzel Washington. It is the tragic story of Steve Biko who was killed by South-African Police and his friend Donald Woods. I think, just today, a MUST SEE!

Sure if you come Mallorca learn to ask for a beer soon. We know original tittle not always literally translated, and yes was a civil war as a result military coup from Franco and others

Started to watch Jojo Rabbit. I got about halfway through and gave it. It was funny but I literally didn't care what was happening.

As I was feeling crappy and so didn't want any serious/heavyweight stuff, just pure frothy escapism... so this was perfect!

I've just been re-watching one of my absolute favourites:

Last Exit to Brooklyn (1989), director: Uli Edel

The movie is based on Hubert Selby Jr.'s novel from 1957 with the same title as the movie.

It's a powerful movie about ordinary working class people in Brooklyn in the time of the Korea war. There's another kind of "war" going on in the streets, between the workers and the owner's of the big local factory; the workers are on strike & it gets violent, bloody and messy.

But there's a lot more to it, like an utterly faschinating portrayal of the sexlife in 1950's working class Brooklyn, and the melancholy music - it's absolutely wonderful!

Weird; absurd; wonderful; bizarre; strange & surreal..... and at times viciously violently funny.

Mads Mikkelsen stars in this very dark Danish comedy which has many WTF? moments

Well what to say about this - it has a stellar cast (Ben Kinsley: Bruce Willis; Morgan Freeman; Lucy Liu; Josh Hartnell & Stanley Tucci) and a really great screenplay/story.... the problem is that IMHO the plot is not told very well. It is worth watching, a pretty good film... but it could have been so much better
