I saw this on the Rakuten TV listings and thought - Jeff Bridges; Garry Oldman; Joan Allen & Christian Slater - got to be worth a look and I wasn't disappointed It's worth taking a look if only to see Garry Oldman in a rare restrained chillout mode as apposed to his more usual manic over-the-top performances :rofl:

So it really doesn't matter that you have signed up Donald "Okay so he did those Hunger Games shite for the money but apart from that he is a fucking cinematic tour-de-fucking-force" Sutherland; Charlie Theron; Mark Wahlberg & Edward Norton... (it's got Jassssaaaan Stttaaafffammm too so that should have rung the alarm bells I guess) but......

.... it's all very well trying to create a "cool/hip/stylish caper-movie" but when you call it The Italian Job, have a character called Charlie Crocker and 3 Minis Coopers then you shouldn't be surprised that most film fans will compare your heap of shite with this classic

"Mank" on Netflix. There's no doubt the plot, the writing, the photography and the actors were all first-rate. Still, something was missing. Certainly not "Citizen Kane".

I had heard about this but not had a chance to see it, then a few days back it popped up on the UK's C4 streaming service. Yes there are obvious echoes of Terry Gilliam's Brazil; Coen Bros. Hudsucker Proxy as it creates a sense of Orwellian dark absurd paranoia but I enjoyed it.
