Everything Everywhere All At Once
WOW!
WOW!
I haven't posted in this section for a while but I have to recommend this excellent mind blowing; multi-layered; multi-universe movie from Daniels. Brilliantly clever and innovative ideas it's insanely enjoyable, at times bloody hilarious; gut wrenchingly emotional; absurd, ridiculous, exuberantly weird with some wonderfully funny nods to Kubrick (2001); Tarantino (Kill Bill); The Wachowskis (Matrix); Jackie Chan; even Ratatouille

and possibly many more I missed. A crazy rollercoaster of a movie with a superb cast, Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis amongst others. The soundtrack and cinematography are great too. One reviewer used the phrase "Like the Coen Bros on magic mushrooms paying homage to Asian film making whilst satirising the Marvel universe" - I'll go along with that.
It's a movie that has the power to emotionally drain you - make you laugh; make you jump out of your seat; make you cry; and make you shout out loud "What the fuck???!!!!" and all of these many times and occasionally all at once.
This movie will be one that gets a lot of re-viewings as I'm sure there will be some great stuff I missed this 1st time around. Some questions were answered this time though - like "Is it possible to have a Kung-Fu style fight with a butt plug up your ass?" I'm not kidding!
Highly recommended. 2hrs 20mins of absolute joy. 5 stars
