All quiet on the Western Front (Im Westen nichts Neues)
This is really and truly a so called anti-war film. In every war film, from wherever they came, there are the big heroes which are throwing themselves in the battle and the flag is waving.
Here are no heroes only poor souls on both side of the front. Now I've understand why the book and the first film from 1930 was forbidden during the Nazi-time .... because here have been NO HEROES.
Very recommended! --- On Netflix too.

Well Shelter you watched a remake of a WW1 classic, I watched another recent movie on the same subject. An astonishing movie - immersive and full of tension and, of course, the cinematography with it's "one-shot" style puts the viewer right in the center of things. George McKay in the lead role is superb! Recommended

Here's the first 9 mins of the movie...

Today 2 movies:
1. My Policeman - starring Harry Styles. Not a very good film but a good one, worth watching.
2. Conspiracy of Silence - here from the movie thread. And this is a GREAT film - a must see! Everyone here should watch this film.
This is what I have said here long ago: I believe in God - but I hate with all of my heart the institution of the Church.
Most of all these priests, Bishops and so on are hateful hypocrites which should be chased out of the temple!
Please watch this film - highly recommended.

Elvis (2022)

In the same way that Rami Malek became Freddie and Taron Egerton became Rocketman, Austin Butler transformed
into Elvis. At times, I couldn't tell if I was watching real footage or acting. No doubt, Austin Butler amazed me! Give him an Oscar!

Movie lasts almost 3 hours but feels like only a few minutes have gone by. Loved every moment.

After watching the movie I can say that I'm now both an Elvis and Austin fan!
