More than a century ago they had public toilets where several people were sitting together in one room (it was normal in ancient Rome). In young history it seemed to be normal in China. !
Well, I was in China in 1994, and although the Western-style seat toilets are becoming more common there, the squat toilets were still the norm - and in many public toilets as well as those in most budget hotels it's normal to just have the squat stands all in a row with little or no dividing panels. After being in China for sveral months, one get accustomed to watching other guys shitting. One has to.
It may sound gross, but it's not that different in principle from having a row of urinals.
Anyway, this thread has drifted into the scatological, and I am not the slightest bit into that. I don't even like the smell of a fart, I just have a thing for the sound - and especially if it's produced from within a tight-fitting pair of jeans or shorts.
