Morning-wood is a painful & obnoxious conundrum.It is caused by pressure from a painfully,over full bladder.Our normal internal hydrolics make it impossible to pee with a raging boner.Ironically,it's the distended bladder you wake up with that's keeping you hard.You can't win.At my age,I should be happy for every spontaneous erection,but instead I stand in front of the toilet cursing & wishing there was such a thing as Anti-viagra.What I do is sort of meditate & concentrate on visualizing something gross(like my fat middle-aged neighbour in her skimpy spandex outfit)This slowly gives me the desired 'soft-on' & then...blessed relief.As for your question of WHY this happens to us:I consider it proof that the universe is,by design,perverse & that God enjoys laughing at us.
