Can YouTube vids be embedded in messages?

Can YouTube videos be embedded in messages on members' home pages and not just in posts? I didn't see this answered anywhere and there is no YouTube icon in the "advanced" option for messages.

I tried using the "embed" option on the YouTube "Share" link, but that only resulted in what I copied from YouTube being pasted exactly as written, and didn't embed the actual vid.

but does the youtube link also have to be anonymized? I tried posting an anonymized youtube link using the youtube link that I got from "Share" on the youtube page, but it didn't work...am I allowed to use the direct link to the youtube video?

Every link to an external website has to be anonymized - that includes a youtube link on the profile page. But I think it's better, to send the link via PM.
