GOD is an abstract noun - a concept - an idea. An invention of man's imagination. Nothing more, nothing less.

*SWOOON*
eloquently stated...
I respect some aspects of certain traditions... in certain religions.. that tried to preach altruism/tolerance/understanding/compassion etc....
but the ritual/mythological components i think ought only to serve as an academic tradition... something to be studied.. based on their merits... but.. not necessarily practiced or wholly trusted..
like the Greco-Roman parables/histories/fables/myths, they're significant, and ought to be studied... and have some universal truths, and even some historical information in them... but they're not necessarily as important as reading modern works... that explore.. the REALITY of the universe.. now that we have a powerful understanding of our world, and to some extent, knowledge about the universe, it seems silly to seek answers to things that are dwarfed by the reality of our universe, in an ancient book of fables and myths, when we have so much more to consider..
Clearly ive forgotten what i was saying at first.. and am concentrating now on three specific faiths.... but the general sentiment applies broadly in most other cases as well, though not as neatly...
i need to sleep.
